Since thyme began

I’ve been here since the earth awoke

Since the first bird spoke

Since the world spun in tune

With the dance of the moon

I came here on a starry night

When the moon was dark and out of sight

Like a thought in the wind caught

Hot as iron I was wrought

In the minds of those around

Began the song of my true sound

Since the dawn of thyme

It was my own rhyme

That shed a salty tear

Bringing me from then to here
