Gravity

Down goes up and up goes down

While gravity holds us from toe to crown

Spinning matter of molten rock

While beats of hearts go tick then tock

With a gap of lofty silence

To calm the waves of belligerence

For where is sugar there must be spice

Otherwise the soul turns to ice

With a rose quartz heart as black as coal

A somber mood will keep you whole

Gravitas, the variable pitch pipe

Knowing when the apple fruit is ripe

Vibrating tone from in to out

To sing a song with lots of clout

Halve the apple to the star of five

It shows how to stay alive

Take a bite from either half

But whatever you do, don’t chew and laugh
